FEATURES AND CONTROLS
Choke
The choke assists i n starting a cold engine. See page 44 for correct
choke and t hrottle settings during starting.
Fuel Valve
The fuel valve (1) is located
on the l eft side of the vehicle.
OFF
Turn the valve off
before storage and
when transporting.
ON
Turn the valve on for
normal operation.
RES
Turn the valve to the
reserve setting if the
main fuel supply is
exhausted. Refuel as
soon as possible.
Reserve fuel range is about
7-10 miles (11-16 km).
NOTE: Return the valve to the ON position after refueling.
Fuel Tank
The fuel tank filler cap (2) is located directly below the handlebar. Use
either leaded or unleaded gasoline with a minimum pump octane
number of 87=(R+ M/2) octane. Refer to the specifications section
beginning on page 96 for tank capacity.
Fuel Filter
The in-line fuel filter should be replaced by your dealer after every 100
hours of operation, or annually. Do not attempt to clean the fuel filter.
