FEATURES AND CONTROLS
Choke
The choke assists in starting a cold engine. R efer to the engine starting
procedure on page 51 for correct choke and throttle settings during
starting.
Fuel Valve
The fuel valve (1) is located on the left side of
the vehicle, below the fender. It has three
positions:
OFF: For vehicle storage and when transporting.
ON: For normal operation.
RES: For reserve supply if main
supply i s exhausted.
NOTE: There’s about a 7 to 10 mile
(11.2 to 16 km) range on reserve gas.
Always refill the gas tank as soon as
possible after using the reserve supply.
Always return valve to ON position
after refueling.
Fuel Tank
The fuel tank filler cap (2) is located
directly below the handlebar. Use
either leaded or unleaded gasoline with
a minimum pump octane number of
87=(R+ M/2) octane. Refer to the
speci fications section beginning on
page 107 for capacities.
Fuel Filter
The in-line fuel filter should be replaced by your dealer after every 100
hours of operation, or annually. Do not attempt to clean the fuel filter.
