SC2080 calculators can have up to 24 levels of parentheses in one operation
and up to 25 consequent levels of parentheses in one calculation in the linear
mode. Closing parentheses may be omitted before performing the calculation.
Note
: A parenthesis may also be omitted before the “x” symbol (multiplication).
Calculations with percentages
Pressing
[2ND][%]
to divide the input number by 100. The key may be used to
calculate percentages, discounts, etc.
Last result function
This function stores the last calculation result. Press
[ANS]
to display the result
on the screen. If power supply is switched off, the result of the last calculation
is not saved in the memory. Every time a value or expression is inserted and
[M+]
,
[2ND][M–]
,
[RCL]
,
[2ND][STO]
or
[=]
is pressed, the last result is saved
by means of the function.
Scientic calculations
Scientic calculations are used in the COMP mode. Select
[MODE/SET UP]
[1]
(COMP).
Angle calculations
To set an initial angular value (Deg, Rad, Grad), press
[2ND][MODE/SET UP]
and select the required angular unit in the menu in which you want to display
the results.
The following relationship exists between the angular units:

rad = 200 grad
Angle conversions:
1. Set the required angular unit (Deg is set by default).
2. Enter the value.
3. Press
[2ND][DRG►]
to display the menu of units for conversion:

(degrees),
r
(radians),
g
(gradians).
4. Select the unit for conversion and press
[=]
.
Conversions between sexagesimal and decimal system
Calculations can be performed in the sexagesimal system (degrees, minutes
and seconds) and values can be converted between the sexagesimal and
decimal system by means of
[DMS]
or
[2ND][←]
.
When inserting data in the sexagesimal system, always separate degrees,
minutes and seconds by pressing
[DMS]
and the following will display on the
screen 125°45‘30”. Upon repeated pressing of
[DMS]
, you can switch between
the display in the sexagesimal and decimal system.
Conversions of coordinates
The calculator enables performing conversions between rectangular and polar
coordinates by means of the keys
[2ND][POL]
and
[2ND][REC]
.

: Check whether the calculator is switched to the required angular units
during the calculation.
