9.4 Speed setting wheel (Fig. 4)
m CAUTION:
Never change the speed with the device running.
1. The machine speed can be set between 0.7 m/s
and 2.2 m/s by turning the speed setting wheel
(4).
2. By turning the speed setting wheel (4) towards
the number 6 you increase the speed, whilst
turning it towards 1 reduces the speed.
m CAUTION:
The speed setting wheel (4) can only be turned
up to 6 and back to 1. If it is forcibly turned past
6 or beyond 1, it may no longer be possible to
adjust the speed.
3. Choose a suitable speed for the workpiece to be
cut.
9.5 Adjusting the workpiece stop (10) (Fig. 6)
m For safety reasons, please disconnect the power ca-
ble from the mains.
While using the metal band saw, the workpiece stop
(10) must be secured in the lowest position.
1. If the workpiece stop (10) should butt against an
obstacle at the end of a cut, e.g. a wall or similar,
loosen the screw (seeg. 6) and slide the work-
piece stop (10) upwards. Secure the workpiece
stop (10) after sliding by xing the screws again.
2. Attention: Ensure that the metal band saw is
switched o󰀨 when adjusting the workpiece stop
(10)!
10. Operation
10.1 Tips for better sawing (Fig. 14)
The following recommendations should be applied as
a guideline (see “Recommended sawing positions” ta-
ble in gure 14).
Never twist the saw band during the cutting pro-
cess.
Never use liquid coolant for the metal band saw.
The use of liquid coolants causes deposits on the
rubber belts (17) and reduces the cutting perfor-
mance.
If severe vibrations arise during the cutting process,
make sure that the sawn workpiece is securely
clamped. If the vibrations continue, replace the saw
band (see chapter 13 “Cleaning and maintenance”).
9. Before commissioning
m ATTENTION!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
Check all screws and connections for rm seating.
Check that the saw band is in perfect condition.
Remove all tools from the clamping jaw and the
saw table.
The saw band must be able to run freely.
In case of previously machined wood, be aware of
any foreign objects, such as nails or screws, etc.
Before pressing the on/o󰀨 switch (5), make sure that
the saw band is correctly tted, and that moving
parts run smoothly.
Before connecting the machine, make certain that
the data on the type plate matches with the mains
power data.
9.1 Switching the machine on (Fig. 4)
CAUTION:
Before connecting the machine to the mains power
supply, always make sure that the on/o󰀨 switch (5) is
functioning properly.
1. To switch the machine on, press the on/o󰀨 switch
(5) and the release switch (6) at the same time.
2. To switch o󰀨, release the on/o󰀨 switch (5).
3. Attention: The saw band runs after the device
has been switched o󰀨.
9.2 Handle (Fig. 5)
m For safety reasons, please disconnect the power ca-
ble from the mains.
The handle (1) allows the user to maintain a rm hold
during use.
1. Put the handle (1) in a comfortable and secure
working position.
9.3 Switching the LED lamp on (Fig. 1)
1. To switch the LED (3.1) on, set the on/o󰀨 switch
(3) to “I (ON). To switch the machine o󰀨, set the
switch to position “O (OFF)”.
2. NOTE: Wipe any dirt o󰀨 the LED (3.1) with a dry
cloth. Be careful to avoid scratching the LED
(3.1), because this can severely reduce the light
intensity.
3. Do not use thinners or spirit to clean the LED
(3.1). Such solvents may damage the LED.
4. Always switch the LED (3.1) o󰀨 after work.
