How to carry out inspections
As soon as you have started the conveyors via the key-
board with
m or n (or for clearing the tunnel)
(forward or reverse), the operator in charge of the
second control is able to stop the conveyors. He or she
thus gains control of the conveyors, i.e. only the oper-
ator in charge of the second control will be able to re-
start the conveyors.
You regain control of the conveyors by stopping them with
1 after their having been started by the oper-
ator controlling the second conveyor control.
Particularities of units equipped with contact mat* or attendance detector*
For reasons of safety, the HI-SCAN X-ray unit can be equipped with a contact mat or an optical attendance
detector.
Before starting the conveyor and until stopping the conveyors with
1, you have to step on the mat or
you have to stay in front of the attendance detector which is mounted below the keyboard.
Particularities of units equipped with safety switches*
(conveyor end and/or oversize detectors*)
Light barriers installed as safety switches* at the convey-
or ends (conveyor end detectors*) stop the conveyors as
soon as baggage or freight items reach the end of the
conveyors or when reversing, the beginning of the convey-
ors to prevent them from falling down.
