Refer
to
Fig.
2.5
for
identification
of
parts
and
proceed
as
follows:
1.
Lubricate
bearings
and
insert
one
cup
and
bearing
into
gear
housing.
2.
Slide
steering
shaft
into
gear
housing,
followed
with
another
bearing
cone
and
cup.
3.
Install
adjusting
nut
and
tighten
until
steering
shaft
has
a
slight
bind
when
turned,

At
this
point
adjust
nut
until
shaft
has
no
end-play
with
no
binding
when
turn¬
ed.
Secure
adjusting
nut
with
cotter
key.
4.
Install
bearing
at
upper
end
of
shaft
and
tube.

Loosen
adjusting
screw
in
steering
arm
and
install
arm
into
housing
with
seal
and
re¬
tainer
in
place.
6.
Install
washer
and
one
retaining
nut
on
steering
arm
shaft.
Tighten
nut
until
steering
arm
has
no
binding
or
end-play.
Secure
re¬
taining
nut
in
this
position
with
locknut.
7.
Turn
in
on
adjusting
screw
until
a
slight
drag
is
felt
on
steering
shaft
at
mid
range
of
steering
(this
would
be
a
straight
ahead
posi¬
tion
of
front
wheels).
8.
B
ack
out
adjusting
screw
to
eliminate
any
binding
of
steering
shaft
and
secure
in
this
position
with
locknut.
