Troubleshooting

Symptom Possible cause Possible remedy
No video display. Unit has no power. Ensure that unit is
plugged in correctly. You
should see a green LED
on the front panel if it is
plugged in correctly.
Refer to “Connecting
power” on page 11.
Cable connecting AV Out
to video monitor is not
properly connected.
Refer to “Connecting to a
TV (viewing only)” on
page 10 for information.
Remote control not
functioning.
Obstruction in front of
infrared sensor on
recorder.
Ensure that a line of sight
exists between the
remote control and the
sensor on the recorder.
Low battery power. Replace battery in the
remote control.
CF card or MS Duo
not recognized by
the recorder
Card not inserted
properly.
Refer to “Connecting
power” on page 11 and
“Connecting power” on
page 11 for information
about proper handling of
CF and MS Duo memory
cards. Never force mem-
ory cards into the
recorder.
