A warm engine is started according to items 3-5 in the above
description.
6.2.4 Adjusting the idling speed
The clearing saw should run smoothly at idling speed with
the blade/trimmer head rotating. Adjust the idling speed with
the screw (A) in Fig. 9. Refer to relevant idling speed in
section 9.
6.3 STOPPING
Stop the clearing saw by setting the stop control in the stop
position. See Fig. 14.
6.4 CHANGING THE BLADE/TRIMMER HEAD
Insert the accompanying screwdriver in the hole in the
angular gear's housing. Rotate the shaft so that the
screwdriver can be pushed in and lock the spindle. See Fig. 7.
For a blade, release the nut with screwdriver. For the trimmer
head, release the trimmer head by hand.

6.6 FILING THE BLADE
WARNING! Remove the spark plug connection
before starting to file.
WARNING! Wear protective gloves when filing.
Risk of cutting injuries.
6.6.1 Blade for grass trimming, Fig. 19
Use a suitable flat file, and file the blade as shown in the
figure. File all the edges equally to avoid imbalance.
6.6.2 Blade for clearing bushes and trees
WARNING! An incorrectly filed blade causes the
machine to pitch more easily.
WARNING! Blades with incorrectly set teeth cause
pitching.
1. Check that the teeth on the blade are set approx. 1 mm.
Adjust if necessary with a pair of universal pliers. See
Fig. 20.
2. File the blade with a 5.5 mm round file. Apply the file as
shown in Fig. 21.
3. File every other tooth to the left, and every other tooth to
the right. File all the teeth equally.
4. The top part of the teeth may need filing if there is more
severe damage. Use a suitable flat file, and file all the
teeth equally. See Fig. 22.
6.7 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.7.1 Instructions for clearing
Never use the blade's front right angle as shown in Fig.
23. This increases the risk of pitching and jamming.
The engine should always be run at full throttle when the
blade is applied to the tree-trunk.
The blade should always be well sharpened. This
increases the sawing speed and reduces the risk of
jamming.
Be careful when sawing close to stones. The blade can
move unexpectedly when the trunk is cut.
Never touch the ground with the blade.
When the trunk falls in the direction of the wind, this
reduces the risk of jamming.
When the trunk is to be felled to the right, apply the blade
at an upward angle from the right so that the trunk's root
end slides down the left. Press against the trunk with the
blade guard to help. See Fig. 24. Felling to the left is done
in the reverse order. When felling forwards the blade is
correspondingly applied behind the tree.
The clearing of bushes and brushwood is made with
sweeping circular movements of 60 - 90° .
6.7.2 Instructions for grass trimming
Work in steady and uniform circular movements of 60 -
90°.
The trimmer head should be held just over the ground.
Feed forward new line by pressing the trimmer head
gently against the ground. Surplus line will be cut off by
the line cutter. See (A) in Fig. 6.
Never press the rotating line into the grass.
Only allow the line to just touch hard objects such as
stones, wooden poles and trees etc. If the line is forced in
it will quickly be worn down unnecessarily.
