Installation
CAUTION
A hot radiator and hot engine
can burn you.
Wait until the radiator and
engine are cool enough to
touch with bare hands before
starting this work.
NOTICE
Improper installation of the
spark plug can damage your
motorcycle. An overly-tight or
cross-threaded spark plug will
damage the aluminum threads
of the cylinder head.
Carefully turn the spark plug
by hand into the threads. If the
spark plug is new, tighten it
with a wrench about 1/2 turn
past finger tight. If you are
reusing the old spark plug,
tighten it with a wrench about
1/8 turn past finger tight.
NOTICE
Dirt can damage the moving
engine parts of your motorcy-
cle if it enters an open spark
plug hole.
Cover the spark plug hole
while the spark plug is out of
the hole.
