•Inspectthebladesandbedknivesperiodicallyfor
excessivewearordamage.
•Usecarewhencheckingtheblades.Weargloves
andusecautionwhenservicingthem.Only
replaceorbacklapthebladesandbedknives;
neverstraightenorweldthem.
•Onmachineswithmultiplecuttingunits,takecare
whenrotatingareel;itcancausethereelsinthe
othercuttingunitstorotate.

Note:Whensharpening,settingtheheight-of-cut,
orperformingothermaintenanceproceduresonthe
cuttingunits,storethecuttingunitreelmotorsinthe
storagelocationonthefrontofthesuspensionarms
topreventdamagetothem.
Important:Donotraisethesuspensiontothe
transportpositionwhenthereelmotorsarein
theholdersinthemachineframe.Damagetothe
motorsorhosescouldresult.
Important:Wheneveryouneedtotipthecutting
unit,propuprearofcuttingunittoensurethat
thenutsonthebedbaradjustingscrewsarenot
restingonworksurface(Figure50).

accidentallystartthecuttingunit,

Alwaysseparatethecuttingunitpower
disconnectcouplersbeforeworkingon
thecuttingunits.
2.Liftuponthefootrestandswingitopen,allowing
accesstothecentercuttingunitposition(Figure
52).
CAUTION
Thefootrestcanpinchngersifitfalls
intotheclosedposition.
Keepyourngersclearoftheareawhere
