Storage
StorageSafety
•Shutofftheengine,removethekey(ifequipped),
andwaitforallmovementtostopbeforeyouleave
theoperator’sposition.Allowthemachinetocool
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
•Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.
StoringtheMachine
1.Removeanygrassclippings,dirt,andgrime
fromtheexternalpartsoftheentiremachine,
especiallytheengine.Cleanthedirtandchaff
fromtheoutsideoftheenginecylinder-headns
andtheblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donot
pressure-washthemachine.Avoid
excessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthe
shift-leverplateandtheengine.
2.Forlong-termstorage(morethan30days)add
stabilizer/conditioneradditivetothefuelinthe
tank.
A.Runtheenginetodistributeconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
B.Eithershutofftheengine,allowittocool,
anddrainthefueltank,oroperatethe
engineuntilitshutsoff.
C.Starttheengineandrunituntilitshuts
off.Starttheengineagain,withthechoke
closed,untiltheenginedoesnotstart.
D.Disconnectthespark-plugwirefromthe
sparkplug.
E.Disposeofthefuelproperly.Recycleit
accordingtolocalcodes.
Note:Donotstorefuelcontaining
stabilizer/conditionerlongerthanthe
durationrecommendedbythefuel-stabilizer
manufacturer.
3.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatiswornor
damaged.
4.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paint
isavailablefromyourauthorizedTorodistributor.
5.Storethemachineonalevelsurfaceinaclean,
drygarageorstoragearea.Coverthemachine
toprotectitandkeepitclean.
