UsingtheFastThrottleSetting
Forbestmowingandmaximumaircirculation,operatethe
engineattheFASTposition.Airisrequiredtothoroughlycut
grassclippings,sodonotsettheheight-of-cutsolowasto
totallysurroundthemowerinuncutgrass.Alwaystrytohave
1sideofthemowerfreefromuncutgrass,whichallowsair
tobedrawnintothemower.
CuttingaLawnfortheFirstTime
Cutgrassslightlylongerthannormaltoensurethatthe
cuttingheightofthemowerdoesnotscalpanyuneven
ground.However,thecuttingheightusedinthepastis
generallythebestonetouse.Whencuttinggrasslongerthan
15cm(6inches)tall,youmaywanttocutthelawntwiceto
ensureanacceptablequalityofcut.
CuttingaThirdoftheGrassBlade
Itisbesttocutonlyaboutathirdofthegrassblade.Cutting
morethanthatisnotrecommendedunlessgrassissparse,or
itislatefallwhengrassgrowsmoreslowly.
AlternatingtheMowingDirection
Alternatethemowingdirectiontokeepthegrassstanding
straight.Thisalsohelpsdisperseclippingswhichenhances

spring.Asthegrassgrowthrateslowsinmidsummer,mow
lessfrequently.Ifyoucannotmowforanextendedperiod,

Toimprovecutquality,useaslowergroundspeedincertain
conditions.
AvoidingCuttingTooLow
Whenmowinguneventurf,raisethecuttingheighttoavoid
scalpingtheturf.
Stopping
Ifyoumuststoptheforwardmotionofthemachinewhile
mowing,aclumpofgrassclippingsmaydropontoyour
lawn.Toavoidthis,moveontoapreviouslycutareawiththe
bladesengagedoryoucandisengagethemowerdeckwhile
movingforward.
