Oil
Service Interval/Specification
Change oil:
• After the first 5 operating hours.
• After every 25 operating hours.
Note: Change oil more frequently when
operating conditions are extremely
dusty or sandy.
Oil Type: Detergent oil (API service SF, SG, SH)
Crankcase Capacity: 36 oz. (1.06 l)
Viscosity: See table below

Checking Oil Level
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the power take off (PTO), set the parking brake,
and turn the ignition key to “OFF” to stop the
engine. Remove the key.
2. Clean around the oil dipstick (Fig. 7) so dirt
cannot fall into the filler hole and damage the
engine.
3. Unscrew the oil dipstick and wipe the metal end
clean (Fig. 7).
4. Screw dipstick fully into filler neck; then remove
it and check oil level on dipstick. If level is low,
add only enough oil to raise level to FULL mark.
Do not overfill or engine damage may result.
IMPORTANT: Do not overfill the crankcase
with oil because the engine may be damaged.

Oil
1. Start the engine and let it run five minutes. This
warms the oil so it drains better.
2. Park the machine so that the drain side is slightly
lower than the opposite side to assure the oil
drains completely. Then disengage the power
take off (PTO), set the parking brake, and turn
the ignition key to “OFF” to stop the engine.
Remove the ignition and “key choice” keys.
3. Move the PTO into DISENGAGE detent and set
height–of–cut in lowest position.
4. Place a drain pan below drain plug (Fig. 8).
Remove drain cap. Allow all oil to flow into
drain pan.
5. Reinstall drain cap after oil stops flowing.
Note: Dispose of the used oil at a certified
recycling center.
