ServicingtheAirCleaner
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Check
theaircleanerfordirty,looseor
damagedparts.
Every250hours—Serviceorreplacethe
air-cleanerfoamelement(moreoftenunder
dusty,dirtyconditions).
Every500hours—Replacetheair-cleaner
paperelement(moreoftenunderdusty,dirty
conditions).
Note:Servicetheaircleanermorefrequentlyif
operatingconditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
RemovingtheFilters
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch(PTO),andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerand
pulltheair-inletcoverofftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure37).
4.Cleantheair-inletscreenandcover.
5.Installtheair-inletcoverandsecureitwiththe
latches(Figure37).
