(a)Wet , apply lubrication oil to the threads of the nut and bolt.
(b)2-step tightening method.
(c)Tighten cylinder head bolts according to the angle method, tighten short bolts to 118 Nm (12 kpm) [86,8 lbf.ft], then tighten 60°
more.
(d)Tighten bolts according to the following sequence:
1. Tighten the cap bolts to specified torque
2. Tighten side bolts on the right side of the engine
3. Tighten side bolts on the left side of the engine
(e) Extremely important to use torque wrench in tightening the piston cooling nozzles. Failure to do so may result in excessive
tightening torque, which may cause valve malfunctions that could lead to seizing of pistons due to insufficient lubrication.
(f) Tighten connecting rod caps according to the angle method, tighten to 147 Nm [15 kpm)[108,5 lbf.ft], then tighten 45° more.
