Step 4: Component and Function Checks

Check that the fuel quality is within specifications. Group 23: Fuel Quality, Checking
Check that the intake manifold pressure is according to specifications for the particular
horsepower variant at 100% engine load.

Check charge air hoses and connections for damage, restrictions, or signs of engine
oil inside the piping.

Check the charge air cooler for leaks, damage, or restrictions, including blockage at
the A/C condenser and radiator.

Check the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipes. Check for damage, restrictions, and
unauthorized modifications.

Check that components such as the turbocharger, engine ECU, injectors, and EPG
shutter have the correct part number for the vehicle.

Check that the EGR valves function properly and are not stuck in an open or semi-open
position.

Check the EPG and AVU. Check the function, signal input, power supply, and air supply.

Check that the oil pressure for the rocker arm shaft is within specifications when the
VCB is not active.

Check that the adjustable timing gear is correctly torque-tightened. Check that the
camshaft is properly timed.
