INSPECTING AND REPLACING
ANODE
Yamaha outboard motor is protected
from corrosion by sacrificial anode.
Check the anode periodically. Remove the
scales from surfaces of the anode.
For the replacement of the anode, consult
a Yamaha dealer.

Do not paint the anode, for this would
render it ineffective.
To clean the fuel tank:
1) Empty the fuel tank into an approved
gasoline container.
2) Pour a small amount of suitable sol-
vent in the tank. Reinstall the cap and
shake the tank. Drain the solvent
completely.
To clean the fuel filter:
1) Remove the screws holding the fuel
meter assembly. Pull the assembly
out of the tank.
2) Clean the filter (located on the end of
the suction pipe) in a suitable clean-
ing solvent. Allow the filter to dry.
3) Replace the gasket with a new one.
Reinstall the fuel meter assembly and
tighten the screws firmly.
