SYS 600C is a product that combines the robust solid-state computer with the operating
system and the SYS 600 software.
Hardware
The hardware configuration cannot be changed after order (concerning the parts supplied
by the ABB product unit). There are no options that can be ordered separately. There
are some hardware options that are specified when ordering, but these cannot be changed
later on. If different hardware options are needed, a new product must be ordered. The
new product includes also the operating system, the SYS 600 software, and license.
The computer hardware can also be upgraded to a new version.
The following upgrades are possible:
1. The hardware is upgraded to a new version but the SYS 600 software remains the
same. The total price is the list price of the new hardware.
2. The hardware is upgraded to a new version and the SYS 600 software is also
upgraded to a new version. The total price is the list price of the new hardware +
the upgrade price of the SYS 600 software.
If the hardware is upgraded, the Hardware Key inside the old
SYS 600C computer must be removed and reused for some
other SYS 600 license.
SYS 600C has three PCI slots for additional PCI cards. SYS 600C does not include any
additional cards by default. Additional cards, such as the XLON card, can be purchased
from external suppliers.
Operating systems
The operating system can be upgraded after the delivery. The operating system upgrades
are not delivered from the ABB product unit, but can be purchased from an external
supplier. The operating system must be compatible with both the computer and the SYS
600 software. Operating system security updates can be applied, but operating system
service pack must be approved for the SYS 600 software.
