3.4 Cleaning the cooling water space
and the sealing air ducts
Warning ! Be careful to observe the safety instruc-
tions when handling cleaning agents
(see chap. 1).
Note Cleaning intervals in accordance with the
information provided by the plant operator.
If necessary, have the cooling water
spaces cleaned by an authorized service
station of ABB Turbo Systems Ltd.
- If necessary, detach the turbocharger from the
engine (see chap. 5).
- Dismantle the turbocharger (see chap. 5).
- Depending on the type and the extent of calcium
deposits, repeat the cleaning process until the
cooling water space in the gas outlet casing is free
of calcium.
- Replace all casing gaskets - including the core
hole cover gaskets.
Caution ! When mounting the core hole covers
make sure that the covers are correctly
positio ned on the casing (see chap. 7) .
- Check with the aid of compressed air that the
sealing air ducts X (see g. 3-9) in the bearing
casing (42000) are unobstructed.
- Assemble the turbocharger after cleaning (see
chap. 5).
- Reconnect the turbocharger to the engine (see
chap. 5).
- Start up the engine oil and cooling water circulation
system.
- Ventilate the cooling system.
3.4 Kühlwasserraum und
Sperrluftkanäle reinigen
Warnung ! Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheits-
hinweise beim Umgang mit Reinigungs-
mitteln (s. Kap 1).
Hinweis Das Reinigungsintervall ist den Angaben
des Anlagenbetreibers zu entnehmen.
Die Kühlwasserräume, wenn notwendig,
von einer autorisierten Service-Stelle der
ABB Turbo Systems AG reinigen lassen.
- Wenn notwendig, Turbolader vom Motor abbauen
(s. Kap 5).
- Turbolader zerlegen (s.Kap. 5).
- Je nach Art und Dicke der Kalkablagerung die
Reinigung so lange wiederholen, bis der Kühlwas-
serraum des Gasaustrittsgehäuses kalkfrei ist.
- Sämtliche Gehäusedichtungen - einschliesslich der
Kernlochdeckeldichtungen - austauschen.
Vorsicht ! Bei Montage der Kernlochdeckel auf
richtige Lage der Deckel am Gehäuse
achten (s. Kap. 7) .
- Sperrluftkanäle X (s. Fig. 3-9) im Lagergehäuse
(42000) mit Druckluft auf Durchgängigkeit prüfen.
- Gereinigter Turbolader zusammenbauen (s. Kap. 5).
- Turbolader am Motor anbauen (s. Kap. 5).
- Motorenseitige Öl- und Kühlwasserzirkulation in
Betrieb nehmen.
- Anschliessend Kühlsystem entlüften.
