REMOVING THE BATTERY
Carefully read page 77 (BATTERY).
u Make sure that the ignition switch is in
position “”.
u Remove the seat, see page 27
(UNLOCKING/LOCKING THE SEAT)
u Release and remove the screws (1).
u Remove the battery cover (2).
u Unscrew and remove the screw (3) on
the negative terminal (–).
u Move the negative cable (4) aside.
u Unscrew and remove the screw (5) on
the positive terminal (+).
u Move aside the positive cable (6).
u Slide out fuse carrier (7) and starter relay
(8) from the relevant seats and move
them aside.
CAUTION
Do not force the electric cables.
u Grasp the battery (9) firmly and remove it
from its compartment, by bending it
towards the outside and lifting it.
WARNING
Once it has been removed, the battery
must be stored in a safe place and kept
away from children.
u Position the battery on a flat surface, in a
cool and dry place.
u Refit the seat, see page 27
(UNLOCKING/LOCKING THE SEAT)
WARNING
Upon reassembly, connect first the
positive cable (+) and then the negative
cable (–).
NOTE For the installation of the battery,
see page 80 (INSTALLING THE BATTERY).
