2. Installing the Battery and Checking the Battery Level
The battery is housed in the camera grip. Remove the grip to install one
2CR5 lithium battery.
Installing the Battery
Loosen the grip screw by turning it
counterclockwise as shown in the
figure.
Slide the grip downward to remove.
Insert the battery so that its
contacts touch the grip’s contacts
at the bottom.

After inserting the battery, turn the
battery as shown by the arrow in
the figure.
• To take out the battery, slide the battery
release lever.
Reattach the grip to the camera,
then turn the grip screw to tighten
securely.

Lithium batteries may not be available in certain areas. Carry a spare battery when
going on a trip or when you will use many rolls of film.
