Zi Press the AUTO HARMONIZE button to turn on
Auto Harmonize.

Auto Harmonize turns off temporarily whenever you start derno
tune play or perform a ‘loppy disk operation. It turns back on
as soon as the operation or function that caused @ to turn off is
finished.
Note that you cannot use Auto Harmonize and layer at the same
time,
‘Auto Harmonize is enabled only when the Auto Accompani-
ment mode is FINGERED or CAS!O CHORD.
About Auto Harmonize notes and tones
The notes you play on the keyboard are called “meiody
notes,” while the notes added to the melody by Auto Efar-
monize is cailed the “harmonize notes.” Auto Harmonize
normally uses the tone you selected for the melody notes as
the tone for the harmonize notes, but you can use the Mixer
(page
E-39)
to
specify
a
different
tone
for
the
harmonize
notes.
The harmonize note tone is assigned to Mixer Channel 2, so
change Channel 2 to the tone you want to use for the harmo-
nize notes.
In addition to the tone, you can also use the Mixer to change
a number of other parameters, such as volume balance. See
“Changing the Parameters of a Channel” on page E-40 for
details on these procedures

+ The detautt harmonize nate tone when you first turn on Auto
Harmonize is the same tone as the melody note tone.
* Changing the melody tone setting automaticatly changes the
harmonize note tone to the same setting.

* This automatically makes the ane-touch preset set-

settings.
*¢ Changing the rhythm pattern selection while play-

‘Auto Accompaniment patterns are made up of five parts,
named:
Cherd

Chord
2,
Chord
3,
Bass,
and
Rhythm.
You
can
turn
these
parts
on
and
off
tu
create
exactly
the
type
of
accompaniment pattern you want. Parts are turned on and
off using channel buttons 6 through 10. The table below shows

some
parts
are
assigned
all
rests
(which mean :hey normally do not play even when tumed on)
Using the Metronome
The metronome feature of this pianw produces « bell sound
for the first heat of each measure, followed by click sounds
for each successive beat of the measure, It is the perfect tool
for practicing tunes without accompaniment (rhythm).
To start the metronome
Press the METRONOME button and then use the
RHYTHM SELECT buttons to specify the num-
ber of beats per measure

3. Use the TEMPO buttons to set the tempo
* Press & to increase the tempo (make it faster] or ¥ to
decrease it (make it slower).
