I-Class Mark II Maintenance Manual Removal and Replacement
4.4 Platen
Removal:
1. Turn OFF and unplug the printer.
2. Raise the cover and remove the Tearplate Fascia, Thumbscrew, and Tearplate.
3. Remove the Gear Cover by pulling the far side out then away from the Centerplate.
 Note: If necessary, loosen the Front Panel Fascia to facilitate removal; see Section 4.2.
