Getting started
4.4 Emergency start-up
4.4.1 Electronically controlled gas mixer
1. Adjust the APL valve.
2. Set the O
2 switch (3) to the Add. O2 position.
3. Open the flow control valve (2) and set the desired O
2 flow. If necessary, press the O2+
key (4) to quickly fill the breathing bag.
4. Monitor the set flow on the O
2 flowmeter (1).
5. Set the anesthetic gas concentration on the vaporizer.
6. Ventilate the patient manually.
7. Turn on the device.
8. As soon as the Standby page is displayed, start the therapy.
9. Set the O
2 switch (3) to Aux. O2.
10. Close the flow control valve (2).
4.4.2 Mechanically controlled gas mixer
1. Adjust the APL valve.
2. Open the flow control valve (1) and set the desired O
2 flow. If necessary, press the O2+
key (3) to quickly fill the breathing bag.
3. Monitor the flow on the total flow tube (2).
4. Set the anesthetic gas concentration on the vaporizer.
5. Ventilate the patient manually.
6. Turn on the device.
7. As soon as the Standby page is displayed, start the therapy.
