5 Tests
The quick reference guide does not replace the instructions for use. Any use of the
medical device requires full understanding and strict observation of the instructions for use.
5.1 Available test types
System test
Type and duration: Automatic, approx. 8 min
Perform the test: Daily
Description: Scope of the pretest (initialization):
– Checking situations that frequently cause operational
restrictions.
Examples:
– High leakage
– Incorrectly connected breathing circuit
– Insufficient gas supply
– Incorrectly set APL valve
– Incompletely assembled breathing system
– Condensed water in the breathing system, in the
piston diaphragm, and in the breathing circuit
– Mix-up of the connected breathing hoses
– Calibration of the O
2 sensor (every 7 days)
The initialization takes approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
Remain by the device during this time. Make corrections if
necessary.
Scope of the fully automatic main test:
– Checking the gas supply
– Checking the power supply including the internal bat-
tery
– Checking the functional integrity of the gas mixer and
the breathing system
– Calibrating sensors and valves
– Checking the functional integrity of the patient gas
measurement
– Checking the correct connection of the AGS
– Checking the alarm system and the associated loud-
speakers
– Checking the breathing system warmer
– Performance of leakage test
– Flushing the breathing system
