Checking engine oil level (fig. 54)
Engine oil level can be checked through the sight glass (1)
provided on the clutch cover.
When checking oil level, the motorcycle should be upright and
the engine warm.
Allow a few minutes for oil to settle to a steady level after
stopping the engine.
Oil level should be between the marks on the sight glass.
Top up oil level with SHELL Advance Ultra 4, if low.
Undo the filler plug (2) and top up to correct level. Refit the
plug.
Important
Engine oil and oil filters must be changed by a Ducati
dealer or Authorised Workshop at the intervals specified in
the scheduled maintenance chart reported in the Warranty
Card.
Viscosity
SAE 10W-40
The other viscosity grades indicated in the table can be used
if the local average temperature is within the limits specified
for that oil viscosity.
