3. Nipping Station
3-1 Mechanism
The mechanism of nipping station is shown below.
3-2 Function
Provided a flat surface for the book block, when there are being placed into the clamp
station. It also provides the nipping force to form the cover around the spine of the
book.
3-3 Adjustment
1) During the nipping process, the nipping plates must exert an even pressure on the
cover in order to form a good spine.
2) The nipping swing arms provide this pressure.
Center line

Open the nipping station, then turn the swing
arms counter-clockwise to the position
shown. The swing arms must touch together
at the centerline as shown.
If not, they need to be adjusted.
