3.8 Generalconfig
The General Configuration page allows configuring the system’s general settings.

• Max Number of Records in DB cache: Maximum number of records in the external SIP
callers’ cache. The setting was used with a feature available in older software versions.
• DNS cache MAX size: Maximum number of DNS records (hostnames to IP address
resolutions) stored for Call Manager’s reference.
• DNS cache cleanup timeout: Time after which the system will refresh all records stored in the
DNS cache.
• Flash timeout: Time that the system will wait for the input of a next digit(s) to handle the keys
as a key combination (for example ‘Flash’+‘3’). If no digit is pressed within the specified
timeout, the system will assume that the Flash key has been followed by the key 0. Digits
pressed after the timeout expiration will be ignored.
• Call progress notification timeout: Period of time after which the system will play the
message “Trying to connect, please wait” if no response has been received from the remote
endpoint when establishing a SIP call.
• SIP DNS SRV Failover Timeout: The expiration timeout after which the system will try to
reach the next resolved SIP DNS server if available.
• IP line registration timeout: Registration timeout to be included in configuration files of
supported IP phones generated by the QX. A registration timeout is the time after which an IP
phone will try to re-register on the QX.
• IP line registration timeout minimum: It is the minimum registration timeout which is
supported by the QX. If some device tries to register on the QX with the less registration
timeout, QX will reject that registration with “Too Brief” SIP error message.
• Play user friendly voice messages instead of tones: Response type (system voice messages
or busy tones) to receive from the system if it encounters a problem while executing user-
