The porcelain enamel finish is smr(h
but breakable if misused. This finish is
acid-resistant. Howexe_; any acidic fi}ods
spilled (such as fl'uitj uices, tomato or
vinegar) should not be pemfitted to remain
on the finish.
If acids spill on the cooktop while it is hot,
use a dry paper towel or cloth to wipe it up
fight away. V_]]en the smtilce has cooled,
wash with soap and water: Rinse well.
For other spills such as flit spattefings, wash
with soap and water or cleansing powders
after the smtilce has cooled, Rinse well,
Polish with a dry cloth,

Lift-Up Cooktop(onsomemodels)
Some models have a c{}{}kto I) that can be
lifted up fiw easier cleaning, The entire
cookto I) ma)' be lifted up and suI)I){}rted
in the up position.
The stutilce units do not need to be
i'ellloved; h{}weveI; veil Illav I'elllove one to
make raising the cookto I) easier There are
two side supports that lock into p{}sifion
when the cooktop is lifted up.

To lower the cooktop, push the rods back
and gently lower the cooktop tmfil it rests
in place.

Receptacle Drippan
Surface Units (onsomemodels)
Besure all the controlsare turned to OFFand the
surface unitsare cool before attempting to remove
them.
To clean the stm'ilce milts, tm'n the control
to the highest setting fin" a minute. The coils
will buYn {}lc[an_ soil.
Toremove a surface unit:
To remove the drip pans for cleaning, the
surfilce traits must be removed fit_t.
Lift the st]itilce trait about 1 inch above the
drip pan and pull it out.
Donot rift thesurface unit more than 11'If youdo,
itmaynot fie fiat on the drippan when youplug it
backin.

Toreplace a surface unit:
Rei)lace the dri I) i)an into file recess in the
cooktop. Make sm'e the opening in the i)an
lines u1) x_ith the receptacle,
Insert the temfinals of the smtilce refit
through the opening in the drip pan and
into the receptacle.
Guide the smtilce unit into place so it rests
evenly.
Donot/_nmerse the surfaceunits in
liquidsof anykind
Donot dean thesurface units in a
dishwasher
Donot bendthe surface unitplug
terminals.
Donot attempt to dean, adjust or in any
way repair theplug-in receptacle.
Drip Pans(ifso equipped)
Remove the smtace units. Then lift out the
drip pans.
Place them in a covered containex: Add
1/4 cup ammonia and let soak several
hom_ or overnight. V¢lsh, rinse well
and {h_'.
The drip pans may also be cleaned in the
dishwasher:
Clean the area under the drip pans often.
Btfilt-up soil, espedally grease, may cat{'h fire.
Do not cover the drip pans with foil. Using foil so
close to thereceptaclecouldcause shock,fke or
damageto the range.
NOTE: Do not clean the drip pans in a
self-cleaningoven.
