The gas valve with which is equipped each of the
THR 10-100 boiler’s 50 kW modules is controlled by
the air pressure supplied by the ventilator, thus gua-
ranteeing a correct air/gas ratio over the whole mo-
dulation range (constant CO
2
). This ratio remains
constant despite any pressure drop in the combus-
tion products outlet or the air intake. The air-gas link
is pneumatic.

Each 50 kW module is equipped with a 230 volt va-
riable-speed ventilator controlled by the LGM which
calculates the speed needed at any given time to
produce the required pressure.

50 kW module antifreeze protection:
- when the boiler shell temperature is below 5 °C
the burner and the module pump are switched on.
When the temperature increases and exceeds
15 °C the burner is disconnected and the pump
continues to circulate for 10 mins.
Antifreeze protection for the installation:
- the module pump starts operating automatically
either intermittently or continuously depending on
whether the outdoor temperature is under 1.5 °C
or under - 10 °C.
Antifreeze protection for domestic hot water
(THR 10-100 CS models only:
- when hot water production has shut down, a mi-
nimum temperature of 4 °C is ensured by the
LGM.

To provide a substantial degree of protection
against the development of pathogenic bacteria in
the domestic hot water tank during prolonged shut-
downs, the domestic hot water must be heated once
a week to a temperature above 60 °C.
The anti-legionella function is used for this purpose.
It heats the hot water storage tank once a week to a
65 °C "anti-legionella" temperature.

When the heating mode ends, the module pump re-
mains on for a further 10 minutes.
In hot water storage systems (BS with
THR 10-100 CS), when domestic hot water heating
ends, the module pump remains on until the d.h.w.
exchanger temperature drops below 70 °C (max.
Domestic Hot Water temperature being 65 °C). Du-
ring this pump run-on period, the by-pass valve re-
mains in the "domestic hot water feed" position.

If the module pump has not operated or if the selec-
tor valve has not been activated for more than about
24 hours, these elements are activated during ope-
rating stops for approx. 5 seconds.

Each module LGM incorporates a temperature con-
trol function. It can switch off the burner when the
temperature of the burner reaches the maximum va-
lue of 85 °C. The module heating circuit pump re-
mains on until the actual value of the module water
temperature drops below 79 °C. The burner can
then be started up again.
A module overheat protection also exists (item
no. 4, fig. 3).
When the water overheating safety thermostat acti-
vates, the heating circuit pump and the ventilator are
switched on for 10 minutes. The selector valve swit-
ches to the "heating" position.
