Wheneveraddingfuel,taketheopportunitytocleantheburn
pot.(Weekly at minimum)
• Scrapethetopholedsurfaceandsidesoftheburnpot
down to auger tube Figure 5.1. It is not necessary to
completely remove all material from the burn pot. The
excesswillbepushedoutduringthenextuse.
• With the re out and burn pot cold, use the supplied
allen wrench to remove any build-up that may have
accumulatedintheholesoftheburnpotgrate.Simply
pushtheallenwrenchdownthrougheachholeensuring
itisclearofanybuild-uppayingattentionnottodamage
theigniterelementintheprocess.
Monthly, or after each ton of fuel burned:
• Loosenthe(2)wingthumbscrewsonthelowerfrontangle
oftheburnpot.Figure5.2
• Liftofftheclean-outcovertoopenthebottomclean-out
chamber.Figure5.3
• Cleanashbuildupfrominsidethechamberwhilecover
isoff.Usethescrapertotaponthetopfrontedgeofthe
burn pot.This will help knock pieces of ash, loosened
bythescrapingprocess,downthroughtheholes.Italso
helpsknockscaleoffoftheigniterelement.

Theigniterismadetoberemovableforservicebyinsulated
male/femalewireconnectors.Theseconnectionsbetween
thehot leads (thewiresinside the burnpot) and thecold
leads(thewiresfromthecontrolboard)arealwayspulled
totheinsiderearofthefeederbody. (Not coiled inside the
burn pot.)
Itisveryimportantthattheseconnectionsaretotheinside
rearofthefeederbody.Also,theextrawireoftheigniterwire
serviceloopmustbepulledoutthroughtherearofthefeeder
andtiedupsothatitwillnotbedamagedbyanymovingparts.
Note: The hot lead/cold lead connection must always
be pulled to the rear of the feeder body before
operation.
