Working with the Programming Station
Starting the Programming Station
If you do not wish to transfer files between the LE 415 L logic
unit and the PC, then it does not matter which batch file you
use to Start the Programming Station. Enter “ppcoml “. The
TNC picture then appears on the PC Screen.
Switching from PC-Screen to TNC-Screen mode
You tan switch back and forth between TNC- and PC-Screen
modes at any time:
l Press the return key “J” on the PC keyboard. The Screen
switches to the other mode.

If you press the return key “J” to return to the DOS level or
to Start another program, you may encounter incompatibility
between PP.EXE, which is still running in the background,
and the DOS program. If you need to use your PC for
another program, leave the Programming Station mode first
by pressing “Esc”.
Leaving the Programming Station mode
If you no longer need to use the PC as a TNC programming
Station:
l Press the “Esc” key on the PC keyboard. The PC tan then
resume normal Operation.
Transferring programs between PC and LE 415 L
Part programs that you create with the Programming Station
are stored in the LE 415 L logic unit. They tan be transferred
to the PC and back again.
) Check whether the X21 interface of the LE 415 L logic
unit is connected to a vacant serial port on your PC. Use
the HEIDENHAIN data transfer cable (Id.-Nr. 294 032 ..).
) When transferring through COM 1:
Start the Programming Station by entering “ppcoml /list”.
l When transferring through COM 2:
Start the Programming Station by entering “ppcom2 /list”.
) At the TNC, select the PROGRAMMING AND EDITING
operating mode.
l Use the MOD key to select the FE 1 interface mode at
baud rate 38 400.
l Press the EXT key on the TNC keyboard.
) Use the arrow keys and soft keys to transfer files. The
transferred files tan be found in the C:\TNCPGMS
directory.
