Additional Off-road Gear
On-road apparel may also be suitable for casual
off-road riding. But if you plan on any serious
off-road riding you will need more serious off-
road gear. In addition to your helmet and eye
protection, we recommend off-road motorcycle
boots and gloves, riding pants with knee and hip
pads, a jersey with elbow pads, and a chest/
shoulder protector.
Riding Precautions
During the first 300 miles (500 km) of running,
follow these guidelines to ensure your vehicle's
future reliability and performance.
● Avoid full-throttle starts and rapid
acceleration.
● Avoid hard braking and rapid down-shifts.
● Ride conservatively.
Observe the following guidelines:
● Avoid excessively hard braking and
downshifting.
u Sudden braking can reduce the vehicle's
stability.
u Where possible, reduce speed before
turning; otherwise you risk sliding out.
