BATTERY
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and
lead components. Wash your hands after handling.
The battery is disconnected for shipment.
1. Remove the front cover (see page 63).
2. Remove the battery terminal bolts and nuts from the small plastic bag that is
taped to the top of the battery.
3. Connect the battery positive (+) cable to the battery positive (+) terminal first
and tighten the bolt securely.
4. Slide the battery boot over the positive (+) cable and terminal.
5. Connect the battery negative (–) cable to the battery negative (–) terminal,
and tighten the bolt securely.
6. Install the battery rubber and the battery holder band.
7. Install the front cover, and install the four 6 mm cap nuts, making sure the
four collared washers are placed in the rubber grommets inside the cover.
