Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30).
5. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 31), if installed.
6. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34).
7. Remove the display (see Display assembly on page 61).
To remove the power connector cable:
1. Disconnect the cable from the system board (1).
2. Lift the tape that secures the connector to the computer (2).
3. Remove the cable from the clips around the fan (3), and then lift the power connector cable from the
computer (4).
Reverse this procedure to install the power connector cable.
