Display assembly
NOTE: The display assembly is spared at the subcomponent level only. For more display assembly spare
part information, see the individual removal subsections.
Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 23).
5. Remove the memory cover (see
Memory cover on page 24).
6. Remove the bottom cover (see
Base enclosure on page 26).
7. Remove the system board (see
System board on page 37).
Remove the display assembly:
1. Position the computer upside down with the display hanging off the edge of the table.
2. Remove the Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screw (1) that secures the right display hinge to the computer.
3. Remove the Phillips broadhead PM2.5×3.0 screw (2) that secures the left display hinge to the computer.
4. Remove the display assembly (3).
5. If it is necessary to replace the display bezel or any of the display assembly subcomponents:
a. Remove the two display bezel screw covers (1).
