Hinge trunks (2) L56911-001
Before removing the hinge trunks, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 32).
5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 36).
Remove the hinge trunks:
1. Remove the four Phillips M2.0×1.6 broad head screws (1) that secure the hinge trunks to the fan brackets.
2. Remove the two Phillips M2.0×4.5 screws (2) that secure the hinge trunks to the fan brackets.
3. Flex the top edges (3) of the hinge trunks to disengage them from the keyboard/top cover.
4. Remove the hinge trunks (4) by sliding them away from the keyboard/top cover.
Reverse this procedure to install the hinge trunks.
