NOTE
There is a FANc silkscreen on the FANc while the FAN has no such silkscreen.
Functions
The FAN unit performs the following functions:
l Controls the fan speed.
l Reports the status, temperature, and in-position signal of the fans to the main control
processing unit.
l Monitors the temperature at the air intake vent.
l Dissipates heat.
l The FANc provides a read-write electronic label.
Indicator
There is only one indicator on the panel of the FAN unit, which indicates the operating status
of the fans. Table 3-55 describes the indicator.
