3.1 ServeRAID M5014/M5015 SAS/SATA Controller
Descriptions
The ServeRAID M5014 and ServeRAID M5015 SAS/SATA controllers
are dual PHY, SAS PCI Express adapters and are used in systems with
a PCI Express slot. PCI Express goes beyond the PCI specification in
that it is intended as a unifying I/O architecture for various systems:
desktops, workstations, mobile, server, communications, and embedded
devices.
The ServeRAID M5014 and ServeRAID M5015 controllers have one
LSISAS2108 ROC (RAID-on-chip) processor that controls eight external
SAS/SATA ports through two x4 SAS external connectors.
