SIGNALTEK Operation Manual 3-3
browser. By using XML, test reports generated by SIGNALTEK
can be viewed with any PC that has a web browser installed.
There are three ways to access stored test files from the
SIGNALTEK display handset. The files are stored on internal, non-
volatile memory which will hold its data even when the batteries are
removed. The data can be accessed by:
Direct PC Connection (Windows XP™ only)
? Connect the included USB cable between the bottom (mini)
USB port on SIGNALTEK and an available USB port on the
PC.
? Windows will recognize SIGNALTEK as a USB mass storage
drive. On the computer, choose the option to “Open folder to
view files”.
? Go to the Reports folder to see a listing of the stored job files.
? Double-click on a test file to open it with the default web
browser
? Print the desired test reports to an attached printer.
Copy to External USB Drive
The ability to copy job files to a USB drive provides a great amount
of flexibility when working with stored data. USB memory drives
provide an easy way to back up test data, give it to a customer, or
transport it to an office without taking the tester out of the field.
? To copy a job to an external USB memory drive, connect the
drive to SIGNALTEK’s top USB port.
? Highlight the desired job. Press the “Copy to USB” function key
to copy the job file to the USB drive.
? The job file and a file called “SIGNALTEK.xsl” will be copied to
the USB drive. The XSL file is called a “style-sheet” and
instructs the web browser how to display the test file.
