18. ADJUSTING THE AMOUNT OF OIL IN THE HOOK
19. THREADING THE MACHINE HEAD
WARNING:
The oil amount is checked while the hook is rotating ata high speed.

1) Adjust the amount of oil in the hook by turning oil amount ad
justment screw O mounted on the hook.
2) Turning the adjustment screw clockwise will decrease the
amount of oil in the hook or counterclockwise will increase it.

3) Place a piece of paper near the periphery of
the hook, and run the machine for approxi
mately fiveseconds. The proper amount of oil
in the hook is obtained when the oil spots
lightly make stripes on the paper as shown in
the figure left.
A WARNING:
Turn OFF the power beforestarting the work so as to prevent accidents caused by abrupt start of the sewing machine.

as shown in the illustration given above.

Thread the machine head following the order O through ® as
shown in the iliustration given above.
For the needle thread locating on the left toward the operator,
thread the machine head following the order of O throughto
For the needle thread locating on the right toward the operator,
thread the machinehead following the order of O throughto ®.
