Clean
the crank pin and crank pin bearing.
2.
Put a strip of plastigage (Code
No:
07909-30241)
on
the
center of
the
crank pin in each direction
as
shown in the figure.
IMPORTANT
0
Never
insert
the
press gauge into
the
crank pin oil
hole.
3.
Install the connecting rod cap and tighten the
screws to the specified torque, and remove the cap
again.

NOTE

Fasten the crankshaft
so
that
it
does not turn.
4.
Measure the amount of the flattening with the
scale
and get the
oil
clearance.
5.
If the clearance exceeds
the
allowable limit,
replace the bearing.

When
the
oil clearance
is
to be measured by
removing the crankshaft, tighten
the
connecting
rod cap with the specified torque,
then
measure
the
crank pin bearing I.D. with a cylinder gauge or
an inside micrometer. And measure
the
crank pin
O.D.
with an outside micrometer. Calculate the oil
clearance.
