The modem-specific initialization string sent to the modem
when the CSM boots. It sets the options required by the
hardware.

to 0 so it is available to initialize the modem if the modem
reboots and the CSM does not.

is rebooted, the CSM reboots up to three times trying to
initialize the modem. If the modem is not initialized by the
third time, the following message is sent to the Admin Tool’s

When set to true, the CSM does not reboot if the modem
doesn’t initialize, but will only send a message to the event log.
10. The CSM must be rebooted after editing these property files for the parameters to be changed. Reboot the CSM using
the Admin Tool or by disconnecting power to the CSM. If rebooting using the Admin Tool:

Click on “Host” on the top selection menu
•
Select Reboot
•
Select Yes to confirm your desire to reboot
•
Enter the system administrator Username and Password of the CSM to backup the CSM before rebooting

If you are connecting an external modem, the CSM must also be rebooted after the modem has been wired to the CSM.
This is required since a new modem is only initialized when the CSM starts.
