Notes on using the baking
charts
The data for the recommended function
is printed in bold.
Unless otherwise stated, the durations
given are for an oven which has not
been pre-heated. With a pre-heated
oven, shorten durations by up to
10minutes.
Temperature
As a general rule, select the lower
temperature given in the chart.
Baking at temperatures higher than
those recommended may reduce the
cooking time, but will lead to uneven
browning, and unsatisfactory cooking
results.
Duration
Check if the food is cooked at the end
of the shortest time quoted. To check if
a cake is ready, insert a wooden skewer
into the centre. It is ready if the skewer
comes out clean, without dough or
crumbs sticking to it.
Shelf level
The shelf level on which you place your
food depends on the function selected
and the number of trays.
– Fan plus
1tray: shelf level2
2trays: shelf levels1+3/2+4
3trays: shelf levels1+3+5
If you are using the universal tray and
baking trays on a number of levels at
the same time, place the universal
tray underneath the baking trays.
For moist biscuits and cakes, bake
on a maximum of two shelf levels at
once.
– Intensive bake
1tray: shelf level1 or 2
– Conventional heat
1tray: shelf level1 or 2
