Engine overheats
Engine oil pressure is faulty
Note: If the problem cannot be corrected easily or when a problem other than those listed above occurs, Contact
your local Mitsubishi dealer.
When ordering replacement parts, provide the engine serial number. When requesting repair, provide the
engine serial number and service hour meter reading.
When fuel has run out
When fuel runs out during engine operation and the engine has stopped, restart the engine as described below.
1. Return the starter switch to the OFF position.
2. Add fuel to the fuel tank.
For filling fuel tank, refer to "
Checking fuel tank oil level" (3-2).
3. Bleed air from the fuel system.
For bleeding air from fuel system, refer to "Bleeding the fuel system" (8-13).
4. Restart the engine.
For starting the engine, refer to "
Starting" (3-4).

Radiator, heat exchanger leakage Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer
Low coolant level Add coolant. Refer to "Checking the coolant level" (3-3).
Faulty water pump Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer
Faulty thermostat Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer

Cause Remedy
Insufficient amount of engine oil Maintain correct oil level. Refer to "Checking the engine oil level" (3-2).
Engine oil viscosity too low
Use engine oil of appropriate viscosity according to ambient tempera-
ture. Refer to "ENGINE OIL" (5-1).
Clogged oil filter Replace oil filters. Refer to "Changing the engine oil and oil filter" (8-3).
Faulty oil pump Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer
Faulty relief valve Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer
Faulty oil pressure sensor Contact your local Mitsubishi dealer
