TROUBLESHOOTING
Frequently Asked Questions
Q The receiver beeps when I press a button on the foot-pedal but
nothing happens.
A The receiver does not have the foot-pedals electronic ID number
programmed; refer to the “Activating the Electronic ID number” section
of this manual.
Q Activating the electronic ID number does not work.
A The receiver’s memory might be full, see the “Erasing the Receiver’s
Memory” section of this manual.
Q I hit an underwater object and the motor quit working. I pressed
the test button on the battery indicator and all of the lights came
on at once.
A All lights on the battery indicator illuminated at once means the
steering or trolling motor have been overloaded. Wait for the unit to
cool down. Then power cycle the motor by unplugging the motor from
the battery and then plug it back in. If the system does not return to
normal after cooling or power cycling, contact your nearest Service
Center.
NOTE: This motor protection feature also occurs if the steering
is jammed by hitting an underwater object. To correct, follow the
same power cycling procedure explained above.
Q The system stopped working.
A Check the battery in the foot-pedal and replace if necessary.
Q I was running the motor, turned it off and then turned it back on but
the motor did not resume at the previous speed.
A The motor temporarily lost the battery connection. Check all of the battery
connections to ensure they are clean and tight.
