Install the Lock Washer Tighten the Lock Nut

* For the 400 UD, insert the thrust bearing key in the direction of the shaft key. Install the lock
washer and lock nut and tighten the lock nut using the lock nut spanner.
f) With the inner ring of the thrust bearing on the shaft fixed, push the rotor toward the discharge
side.
Use a screwdriver to pull out the bearing part of the lock nut (see Figure 5-23). Place the
gauge set on the suction side of the shaft and set the needle to zero.
