8-2 Detailed Assembly Procedures

Installing the Microscope Body
(Fig. 13)
1. Loosen the body clamping knob @ and insert the microscope body ²
gently into the mounting hole of the standard stand.
}The body clamping knob @ can be attached to any of the accessory
mounting screw holes ³ around the mounting hole. It may be necessary
to change the knob position when a module such as an illumination
system is mounted.
2. Position the microscope body so that it faces frontward and tighten the
body clamping knob @.
}If it is required to position the zoom adjustment knob near the focus
adjustment knob |, position the microscope body in the opposite
orientation.

Mounting the Objective
(Fig. 14)
Attach the objective ² to the objective mount thread @ by turning the
objective in the direction of the arrow.
}The SZ2-ET auxiliary sleeve is required when the 0.5X objective is used.

Mounting the Observation Tube
(Fig. 15)
1. Using the Allen screwdriver, fully loosen the observation tube clamping
screw @.
2. Aligning the positioning groove ² of the observation tube with the posi-
tioning pin ³ of the microscope body, fit the dovetail | at the bottom of
the observation tube into the dovetail mount ƒ of the microscope body.
3. Tighten the observation tube clamping screw @ firmly using the Allen
screwdriver.
#If you always perform observation from the side of the focus adjust-
ment knobs, the microscope body can be installed in the opposite
orientation to that shown in the figure (at the 180° rotated position).
