Braking system fluid top up (03_19, 03_20)
Proceed as follows:
Loosen the two screws «A» and lift the plastic cover «B» in order to access the brake
fluid reservoir. Top-up the brake fluid level using only the prescribed brake fluid.
This procedure applies to the rear brake pump top-up operation; follow the same pro-
cedure for the front brake pump.
To top up the integral braking system brake fluid, partially remove the fluid reservoir
from its mounting, taking care not to detach the pipe. Loosen the screw «F» to take
out the tank and remove the cap to refill.
Under normal climatic conditions, the brake fluid should be changed every 2 years.
This operation must be carried out by trained technicians, please contact your nearest
Authorised Service Centre.
WARNING
ONLY USE DOT 4-CLASSIFIED BRAKE FLUID. BRAKE CIRCUIT FLUID IS VERY
CORROSIVE; MAKE SURE THAT IT DOES NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH
THE PAINTWORK.
CAUTION
AVOID CONTACT OF BRAKE FLUID WITH EYES, SKIN, AND CLOTHING. IN
CASE OF ACCIDENTAL CONTACT, RINSE WITH WATER. THE FLUID IN THE
BRAKING CIRCUIT IS HYGROSCOPIC, THAT IS, IT ABSORBS MOISTURE FROM
THE SURROUNDING AIR. IF MOISTURE CONTAINED IN THE BRAKE FLUID EX-
CEEDS A CERTAIN VALUE, THIS WILL RESULT IN INEFFICIENT BRAKING.
NEVER USE BRAKE LIQUID FROM OPEN OR PARTIALLY USED CONTAINERS.
