NOTE: Low is the primary driving range for the
RANGER 4X4 and 6X6. High is intended
for use on hard-packed surfaces with light
loads.
To change gears, st op the vehicle and with the engine idling, move the
lever to the desired gear. Do not attempt to shift gears with engine
speed above idle or while th e vehicle is moving.
Always place the transmission in gear wi t h the parking brake lo cked
whenever the vehicle i s left unattended.
Maintaining shift linkage adjustment is important t o assure proper
transmission function. See you r d ealer if yo u experience any shifting
problems.
CAUTIO N
Do not att empt to shift the transmission while the vehicle is
moving or damage to the transmission could result. Always shift
when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is at idle.
Always place the transmission in gear with the parking brake
applied and turn the vehicle off whenever the vehicle is left
unattended.
